Institute of Association Management (IofAM) - IofAM is an independent professional body made up of managers and senior staff responsible for the management, development and governance of trade bodies, professional institutes, societies, chambers of commerce, voluntary organisations, charities and other representative groups.

Institute of Continuing Professional Development (CPD Institute) - The CPD Institute is an international cross-professional body promoting CPD, as a key component of lifelong learning, to organisations and individuals. It also encourages networking and partnership among professionals and the groups with which they are associated.


Professional Associations Research Network (PARN) - The Professional Associations Research Network is a non-profit membership organisation for professional bodies, offering expertise, experience and perspective on key issues in the sector through research, consultancy, networking, events and training. PARN conducts a wide variety of research for professional bodies on key issues such as CPD, governance, membership, professional ethics, equality & diversity, regulation & professional standards and strategy, management & operations.

PARN has around 120 members in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia and Kenya.

PM Forum - Formed in 1996, it is the world’s largest and fastest growing community for professional services marketers. It has over 4,000 members in accounting, law, property, financial services, management consulting, architecture, design, engineering and other types of professional firms, based in the UK and 20 other countries across the world.

Trade Association Forum (TAF) - The Trade Association Forum encourages the development and sharing of best practice among UK trade associations and promoting the role of effective trade associations to government, industry and the wider public.

 The UK Initial Professional Development Forum comprises an ad-hoc group of predominantly Engineering organisations who have a common interest in the initial professional development of their staff. We aim to support each other in the quest for accreditation of our graduate development programmes by the Professional (Engineering) Institutions and also provide a forum for the UK Engineering Council to see the point of view from Industry.

UK-Inter-Professional Group (UKIPG) - The UKIPG was founded in 1977 to act as a Forum for the major Professional and Regulatory Bodies in the United Kingdom. There are 30 bodies in membership. They reach across the healthcare, legal, financial, scientific, engineering and construction professions. Some are statutory bodies; others regulate under the terms of their Royal Charter. Major areas of interest include Professional Regulation, Professional Education and Training, the impact of European and International Affairs, and Professional Ethics and Values.

ECLO is The European Consortium for the Learning Organisation, a global organisation devoted to the sustainable development of all aspects of learning and personal and management development. It brings together leading academics, corporate executives and consultants from different countries, institutions, cultures and backgrounds and provides them with unparalleled benchmarking and networking opportunities. The members, who communicate through the array of network activities, learn from each other, develop relationships and use this knowledge to manage more effectively and increase their competitive edge. ECLO is a non profit making organisation, based in Belgium.

ESAE - the European Society of Association Executives - is the premier, European association supporting and representing association managers in Europe. ESAE provides an international framework for round tables, seminars, and events throughout the year, highlighted by keynote speakers from senior levels in industry, government and association management.

Global Network of Association Management (G-NET) - G-NET is a forum for international networking and was set up  in April 2007 when it was agreed that a free and informal network for the profession would be established to provide association managers and executives with a portal to their peers in other countries. Since 2007 a number of meetings have taken place in Barcelona and Frankfurt at which it is was agreed to invite individual association managers to become involved with  proposed programmes of contact, comparisons, best practice, professional qualifications, job opportunities, meetings, conferences and general promotion of the association management profession.
